anyone who reads this, please don't kill me about what I will do to
Hotohori-sama and what I have made him (and what I will do to a couple of
the
other characters as well ^_^; ). Doing this to him is going to hurt me
more than
it's going to hurt you. Sniffles, he's my favorite so IT WILL hurt
me. I got
this stupid idea once when I read Ranma and the idea wouldn't go
away so I
decided to write it out of my head instead...

Spoilers: No Spoilers from Fushigi Y�gi except that you need to
know all of the
Suzaku shichi seishi, the Suzaku no Miko and the Seriy�
shichi seishi. At least
for now (there will probably be other people from
the series and manga as well
in the future). Oh, and Tamahome will have his
Chi attack too. (If you don't
know anything about it then don't worry. It is
not important for the story)

A little Misfortune
Chapter One, A day
off...
It started off as a normal day in Eiyo, the capital of the Konan
Empire. No
clouds in sight, birds singing and...
"HOTOHORI-SAMA,
THERE YOU ARE!"
...and Nuriko chasing after the emperor as usual. But
they will all soon find
out what this day has in storage for
them...
As soon as the poor emperor heard Nuriko's outburst he know he
had lost. He had
been trying to hide away the whole morning and had just
started to believe he
had gotten away with it. But alas he had
not...
"What is it, Nuriko?" he said with a sigh.
"I've been looking
the entire morning for you. Where have you been? You promised
me that we
would go visiting the warm springs today with the others and don't
say
you're to busy today. I checked it out with your advisors and they all
agreed you needed to take a day off."
Hotohori know he had lost and
besides a day when Miaka was not going to wear
much would indeed be a
pleasant day. He had nothing against Nuriko but the way
the feminine seishi
was chasing after him wasn't exactly the way he wanted to
spend his day.
~ Well, you can't get the one without the other. I'll just have to bear it ~
he
thought.
"All right, when are we leaving" the emperor said.
"We
are supposed to meet up in Miaka's room when were ready to leave. Chichiri
will teleport us to the springs with his kasa" the now very happy seishi
said.
"Then let us go there"
A couple of minutes later all of the
seishi had gathered in Miaka's room and
were ready to leave for the springs
on their day off.
"Is everyone here, no da?"
"Looks that way." a bouncing
Miaka said. She could hardly wait to let the
springs take away all the
stress she had built up in her body for the past week,
and she could
especially not wait on showing her bathing suit to Tamahome.
"All right!!!
Let's leave then." everyone said at the same
time.

"Chichiri, you did a great
job by bringing us here but couldn't you have picked
a better spot for the
landing instead of the springs" a very irritated and wet
Tamahome
said.
"It's not easy to concentrate on a landing spot when you are
teleporting 7
people with you, no da" Chichiri replied while he tried to dry
his kasa.
"Sigh, this will never be able to dry, no da"
"Tasuki, could
you do me a teeney meeney weeney favor?"
"What do you want,
Nuriko?"
"Could you use your fan to dry my clothes?"
"Could you dry mine
too then?" Miaka said.
Tasuki just signed. He knew he should have stayed
at the palace today. Some days
aren't just worth getting up on. Especially
since he had been up with Tamahome
and Nuriko drinking yesterday. He would
probably get a headache very soon. Yeah,
some days were not just worth
getting up.
"I don't think I should use my fan for that. Might burn up
your clothes by
mistake. It's much better if we just start a fire
instead"
"Well, you have a point but I think the real reason is that your
lazy" Nuriko
responded.
"Tama-chan, why don't you start one. Lazyhead
here probably won't do it. I beat
he drank to many Nuriko Specials yesterday
to be able to aim that fan of his
right anyway" Nuriko continued to
say.
"Don't call me Tama-chan!"
"What did you say, you #%&
freak!"
Seeing two very pissed off AND wet seishi made Nuriko come to a
conclusion and
fast decision. He ran as fast as he could, while having the
two seishi chasing
him with all their might.
While the chase went on
and the three seishi ran toward a hill, the rest of the
seishi and their
Miko sweatdropped. Large ones.
"Tamahome, Tasuki, Nuriko. Can you please
stop this" the Miko tried to say to
the now three disappeared
seishi.
"Ano... Miaka, I don't think they can hear you now." Chiriko said
while stating
the obvious.
"Well, I think this is the first time I've
ever seen Tamahome-kun and Tasuki-kun
team up on frying someone else than
each other, no da."
"There's a first time for everything." a still calm
Mitsukake said.
"Well, In that case, let's get ready for the springs
while they're off on their
chase. They'll be back sooner or later." Hotohori
said.
~ At least I won't have to have Nuriko on my back this time ~ he
thought
happily.
Meanwhile a couple of hundred meters away from the
others...
"Just you wait, gayboy! I'll get you! Rekka
Shinen!"
<FOOM>
"And here is one from me" Tamahome said
while he sent one of his chi blast in
the direction of Nuriko. Nuriko was
able to dodge their attacks by a couple of
inches. He also knew that the
others were gaining on him. Two of the fastest
runners in all of Konan are
not people you want to chase you.
~ How come they are this touchy about that
joke today? ~ he wondered.
~ They've never acted this harsh about it before.
Oh, well ~
Now back to our seishi who had just started to relax at the
springs...
"Ah, this feels wonderful!" Miaka said.
"What's that you're
wearing, no da?" Chichiri asked while the seishi stared at
the strange and
very revealing thing she was wearing.
"It's a bathing suit. Have you never
seen something like this before?"
"It's so, so..." Mitsukake
started.
"...revealing" Hotohori continued.
"I wanted to wear it so I
could show it to Tamahome. Do you think he will like
it?" Miaka said with
hopes in her eyes.
All of the seishi just continued to star at her without
saying anything. Chiriko
who was the first one to get over the shock then
said,
"I think he will definitely like it!"
"Chiriko, You're to young
to know such a thing, no da" Chichiri said when he
finally were able to
cover Chiriko's eyes.
"Am not!"
"Yes, you are" all of the present seishi
said at the same time.
"But I must say it looks very nice on you, Miaka"
Hotohori said while hoping he
would be able to score a point with Miaka
saying that.
"Thanks! Seeing all of your faces makes me think Tamahome
certainly will like
this, and Mitsukake..."
"Hai"
"Stop staring,
please" the not so innocent girl, as every one think she is,
said.
"Gomen"
Back to the chase...
"Come on guys, it was
just a joke!" the now cornered Nuriko said while trying to
find an escape
route.
"You should have thought about that a little earlier, before making
stupid
jokes, you #%&!" Tasuki said while raising his fan for a final
attack.
Tamahome was at the same time creating an even larger chi ball than
before and
smiled evilly at Nuriko.
"This is for calling me, Tama-chan!"
he said while he released his blast at
Nuriko who started to look
frightened.
<SWOOSH>
"Rekka
Shinen!"
<FOOM>
"That's the way to go, Obake-chan!" Tasuki
then said after his flames had hit
the now very crispy and black Nuriko.
Tamahome who didn't like being called
Obake-chan even less than Tama-chan
then sent a chi blast at Tasuki and started
to leave for the springs while
there now were two black and crispy seishi on the
ground.
A couple of
minutes later Tamahome finally reached the springs and what he found
there
almost choked him.
~ So this was what Miaka wanted to show me. WOW! ~
Tamahome thought, trying to
hide his drooling, while moving over to the
relaxing seishi and Miaka who
eagerly waited for her wonderful Tamahome's
return.
"Tamahome! You're back!"
"Hey! I was only gone ten minutes not
ten years, Miaka!"
"Well, it still seemed longer then ten minutes. By the
way, what do you think
about my bathing suit?" Miaka then asked eagerly
showing Tamahome every single
bit of the not so big bathing suit hiding
nothing from his view. Tamahome just
gulped without saying anything. He knew
that if he did than he would probably
say something stupid so Miaka wouldn't
speak to him for a couple of days. Then
finally he took his courage and
said,
"Miaka, you look absolutely beautiful"
"Tamahome..." Miaka said
while stars started to shine in her eyes.
"Hey! What if you and I go over to
a spring with no others nearby and then I'll
tell you how much more
beautiful you are, ne? Tamahome then seducingly whispered
into Miaka's
ear.
"Sounds like a wonderful idea!" she whispered back.
"Guys, I'm going
to show Tamahome some of the other springs. We'll be back
soon." Miaka said
while pushing Tamahome in a direction to the other side of the
field with
the springs without expecting an answer from her seishi.
"I wonder we're
they are going." Chiriko said while looking like a question mark.
"The more
interesting springs lies in the opposite direction."
Mitsukake and Chichiri
just smiled at the naive boy without saying anything
while Hotohori looked
like he wanted to punch something really, really hard. But
he weren't able
to do that for more than five seconds before a very familiar
voice
screamed,
"HOTOHORI-SAMA!"
~ Shimatta! ~ was the only thing he had
time to think before Nuriko, who by the
way had gotten off all that black
soot from his body by now, threw himself at
Hotohori. For some strange
reason or maybe the gods where playing a trick on
him, anyway he ended up
falling into the spring instead. Hotohori saw his chance
and started to run
away with only a towel around his waist screaming to all the
seishi that he
would be back in a while. He was just going to go and pick up
some soap by
the pack.
"Did we even bring a pack with us?" a confused Chiriko said.
Just when Mitsukake
was supposed to answer no to that question, Nuriko's
head raised itself from the
water.
"Where'd Hotohori go?" he
asked.
"Sorry, you just missed him, no da."
"Shimatta!" he said sinking
himself into the spring.
Meanwhile our dear seishi Hotohori ran like he
had all of the Seriy� seishi
behind him. Noticing that Nuriko wasn't chasing
him he started to slow down
until he finally stopped.
~ Thank
Suzaku, I was able to get out of that one. ~ he thought while checking
out
the surrounding area.
~ Hmm... I wondered which area this is. Oh, a sign.
Maybe it can tell me where I
am. ~
Hotohori walked over to the sign and
started to read out aloud,
Welcome to the Cursed Springs of Jusenkyo
Beware of falling into the springs

"Hmm... I wonder what they mean with unpleasant things."
Hotohori said while he
started to walk.
We will never know if it was the
Gods doing, or if it was just an accident. But
when Hotohori had started to
walk among the cursed spring, a little thorn got
stuck in to his left foot
and while he cried out in pain he fell into one of the
springs. Then he lost
conscious and every thing went
black.

"Isn't Hotohori-sama supposed to
be back soon. He's been gone for over an half
an hour now." Tasuki said. He
had gotten back about twenty-five minutes ago and
was getting very
bored.
"Exactly! I know I can be a little to straight in my ways to get his
attention,
but he would never just disappear like this especially not
because of me. I
mean, were supposed to be a couple!" Nuriko said while
everyone got VERY large
sweatdrops. Nuriko continued without
noticing.
"Chichiri, can you sense his chi somewhere?"
"Just give me a
second." The seishi concentrated and then he started to frown.
"That's
strange, no da. I can feel his chi but it feels very different somehow
and
very weak and what's even stranger is that I can't pinpoint his location."
Chichiri said.
"Then let's go and search for him everyone!""All
right, all right. Just you shut up!"
Tasuki said. A nanosecond later he had
been punched into L.E.O by Nuriko and
the other seishi got even larger
sweatdrops than before.
"Now when that's settle, who are coming with me?"
he asked. Everyone just
nodded, to tired to argue with the strong
seishi.
"Shouldn't we go and search for Miaka and Tamahome first?" Mitsukake
started to
say. "I mean it will be much easier if we are seven instead of
five persons
searching for Hotohori-sama."
"You're right, no da.
Let's go and search for them first" Chichiri said with a
voice that meant
that no arguments would change his mind. Nuriko just sighed and
started to
walk into the direction Miaka and Tamahome had gone to thirty minutes
ago
with the others (including Tasuki who had finished his orbiting).
It
didn't take long to find them. They were sitting in one of the springs and
making out and were NOT too happy about being interrupted. Nuriko explained
that
Hotohori disappeared thirty minutes ago and they volunteered to
help.
"Well, Let's go! We don't have all day!" Nuriko then said to the other
seishi.

Hotohori woke up with a
terrible headache.
~ Oh, my poor head. My head feels like it's spinning. I
must have hit a stone or
something when I fell. ~ Hotohori thought while
raising himself out of the
water. He then suddenly felt that something
wasn't right, or to be exactly
something wasn't right with 'himself'. He
looked down at his own body
and...
"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"

They had been searching for one hour
but still no sign of Hotohori, and now all
of them were worried about
him.
"Where could he be?" Miaka said while looking worried."You tell me."
Tasuki said
while trying to look bored. He didn't want to admit it to the
others but he too was very
worried about Hotohori.
"Maybe he went to
that direction. We haven't searched there yet." Mitsukake said
while
pointing to some springs.
"I don't think Hotohori went to that direction"
Chiriko replied. "That's the
place were the cursed springs are and I don't
think he would go there if he had
a choice."
"The cursed springs? What do
you mean 'cursed' springs?" Miaka asked the child
genius.
"It is said
that if you fall into one of these spring you get transformed into
the last
thing that drowned there. At least that's what the books I read said."
"Forever? You can never change back?" Tamahome responded. "Never be able to
be
yourself again. That's terrible!"
"Well, I don't really know that much
about it. The books didn't say anything
about it but they did mention a
couple of the springs though."
"Like what, no da" the kawaii looking little
monk asked.
"Well, we have for example the Maoniichuan, also known as the
Spring of Drowned
Cat, the Eitonniichuan, Spring of Drowned Black Pig, the
well-hidden Naniichuan,
Spring of Drowned Man, the
Niuhoomanmaorenniichuan..."
"The what?" Mitsukake asked.
"It's a very
tragic story about a Yeti riding on a Bull holding an Eel in one
hand and a
Crane in the other. And we also have the Nyaniichuan, also known as
the
Spring of Drowned Girl..."
"THE WHAT!!!" the now very interested Nuriko
screamed. "Are you sure that's
true! Where is it?!" he continued while
shaking the poor child violently.
"Hey, leave the poor kid alone" Tasuki said
while trying to get the strong
seishi to let go of Chiriko who was starting
to look very blue in the face.
"Where is IT?!"
"Eargh..." was the only
thing the half-strangled child could respond before
falling into
unconsciousness.
"Look what you have done now!" Tasuki said while giving
Nuriko a punch in the
head. That made the feminine seishi lose his grip on
Chiriko who fell onto the
ground.
"Ouch, what you do that for?" Nuriko
asked angry.
The rest of the celestial warriors just sighed. It was going
to be one of those
days. But before Tasuki could give one of his answers to
that question they
heard one of the most terrible screams they had ever
heard.
"What was that?" they all said at the same time.
"It came from
that direction!" Mitsukake said while pointing in the direction of
the
cursed springs. "We'd better get there and see what happened."
"You bet on
it. I want to know what sort of creature who could give that sort of
sound."
Tasuki said while running to the place where the sound came from.
"We better
follow him. Suzaku knows what he would do when he got there!"
The rest of the
seishi started to follow their friend so they could prevent him
from doing
something stupid.
